Description

The monument is an impressively monumental standing stone of the Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age, some 3500 to 4500 years old, situated on high ground immediately to the S of Brodick. The sandstone monolith stands 3.3m high, and is 1.1m broad and 0.3m thick. The area to be scheduled measures 10m in diameter centred on the stone, as marked in red on the attached map.
