Description

The monument is a standing stone of the late Neolithic or Bronze Age which may mark the site of a cemetery. It measures 1m wide, 0.6m thick, and 1.4m high. The area to be scheduled includes the stoneand an area around it within which traces of activity associated with its use may be found. It measures 30m in diameter, centred onthe stone, as marked in red on the attached map.

The monument is of national importance as a standing stone of the late Neolithic or Bronze Age which has the potential to enhance considerably our understanding of prehistoric funerary and ritual practices.
