Description

The monument is a long cairn situated on an area of sloping ground.

The cairn measures around 25-29m SW-NE by around 20m SE-NW and is a maximum of about 2.5m high. It appears to have a horned forecourt to the ENE, but the whole monument has been obscured by field-cleared stone. The original scheduling applied protection to an inadequate area - this extension to the scheduling corrects that situation.

The area to be scheduled measures 60m SW-NE by 40m SE-NW, to include the remains of the long cairn and an area around in which traces of activities associated with the construction and use of the cairn are likely to survive, as shown in red on the accompanying map extract.
