Gallow Howe Boundary Stone at NZ 68077 07482

Uploader's Comments

This boundary Stone known as Gallow Howe is at NZ 68077 07482 within the cairnfield area . It is Grade II listed and marks the corner of the parish boundary between Westerdale and Danby where it turns westward. In this view taken in the third week of November 2013 we are looking in a northerly direction. In the fenced off area directly behind the northern face of the stone is a relic of the Cold War in the form of a bunker of the Royal Observer Corp used as a monitoring station in the event of Nuclear Attack
