Description

The monument comprises a fort of prehistoric date, visible as parchmarks on oblique aerial photographs.

The monument lies in pasture at around 135m OD. It comprises a fort measuring about 75m W-E by about 70m N-S overall. It is defined by two parallel ditches enclosing a roughly triangular area. The ditches are about 4m apart, and both measure about 1.5m wide.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is sub-rectangular, measuring a maximum of 90m E-W by a maximum of 110m N-S, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
