Description

The monument comprises a standing stone of prehistoric date. It is being re-scheduled to ensure adequate protection is given to likely archaeological deposits around the stone as well as the stone itself.

The monument is located in arable farmland at around 135m OD. It consists of a single standing stone measuring about 0.65m wide by about 1.3m in height, with a flattish top. The stone was re-erected some years ago, having previously slumped and become unstable.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the stone and an area around it within which related material may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 20m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
