Description

The monument comprises a cairn of prehistoric date, visible as a stony mound.

The monument lies in moorland at around 205m OD. It comprises a circular cairn measuring about 7m in diameter and surviving to a height of about 0.6m. A hollow at the centre of the cairn suggests that the cairn has been robbed, but significant deposits may still survive within and below it. The monument is a burial mound of a type characteristic of the Bronze Age.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 30m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
