Description

The monument comprises a hut circle of prehistoric date, visible as turf-covered foundations.

The monument lies in rough pasture at around 160m OD. It comprises the wall footings, partially buried in the peat, of a circular hut measuring about 7.5m in internal diameter. The wall survives on the E as a stony bank about 1.5m wide by 0.3m in height, with two inner facing-stones visible on the SSE, one of which is a boulder measuring about 0.9m by 0.5m by 0.5m in height.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 35m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
