Description

Three hut circles which vary in size from 11-15m in diameter, all defined by stone walls up to 3.5m wide and 1m high and with entrances in the E. The farmstead consists of a five compartment long house with ancillary buildings, stock enclosures and dykes. The area to be scheduled measures 370m NE-SW by 170m to include the structures described above, as detailed in red on the attached map.

The monument is of national importance as it consists of well-preserved prehistoric and post medieval settlements and field systems which have the potential to enhance our understanding of prehistoric and post medieval settlement and agriculture.
