The monument comprises the remains of part of a complex field system defined by heather covered walls c3m thick and 0.5m high. Some of the fields are rectilinear, measuring between 70m and 35m in length, by between 10m and 20m in breadth. Others are curvilinear, the largest measuring 100m by 50m. To the W of the recognisable fields are many field clearance cairns varying between 2m and 6m in diameter and up
to 0.6m high. Mature forestry to the E and N, and land improvement
to the W has largely obliterated further remains. The entire
surviving area of the coherent field system and a sample of the field clearance cairns is proposed for scheduling. The area proposed
measures a maximum of 475m NE to SW by 240m NW to SE, running up to
but not including the field boundaries to E and N, as marked in red
on the attached map.
