Description

The monument is a single circular prehistoric house, surviving as a shallow ditch enclosing a slightly raised area. It is c 9m across. It lies immediately to the SE of an access from a recent track. The area to be scheduled measures 50m in diameter, centred on the house, to include the house and an area around it in which traces of

activities associated with its use may survive, as marked in red on the attached map.

Statement of Scheduling

The monument is of national importance as a well-preserved house site which has the potential to increase our knowledge about the design and use of buildings in prehistory. It is of particular importance because single houses of this kind, not surrounded by an enclosure, are rare in this area.
