The monument is of national importance as a well preserved example of the foundations of an isolated Post Medieval house. The majority of buildings of this type in the area north of Lairg occur in clusters and isolated examples are rare. The monument is of importance for its potential contribution to the understanding of the full range of Medieval/Post Medieval settlement and farming practices.
