Statement of Scheduling

The monument is of national importance because it is one of a concentration of chambered cairns in the area which can contribute towards a better understanding of the first farmers burial practices and, through the pollen preserved in the underlying old ground surface, of the vegetation and farming practices of the period immediately prior to its construction.
