Uploader's Comments

This view taken in September 2013 shows the fenced off site at NZ 60991 11539 of the Iron Age Hut Circles about 400m to the SE of Percy Cross. They were first noticed by a local farmer from nearby Sleddale Farm in 1962 and excavated by Roland S Close over the following years. He identified the paved floors and remaining walls of five circular huts, two of them 28ft in diameter. He also discovered nine saddle querns and a beehive quern.
