Castell Gronw

Uploader's Comments

Castell Gronw is a scheduled ancient monument with CADW (the Welsh Government’s historic environment service). The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales lists Castell Gronw as a medieval castle which dates back to approx 1202.It has been linked to Gronw Pebyr of Penllyn and as such is shrouded in the mysterious ancient folklore of the tales of the Mabinogion. Castell Gronw is in private ownership, however the owner allows access to members of the public each year on the 1st March (St David's Day). Guests to the neighbouring Pen Y Bont Farmhouse have private access at all other times.
