Description

The monument comprises a standing stone of prehistoric date.

The monument stands in arable farmland at around 45m OD. It comprises a standing stone approximately 2.2m high and about 2.8m in girth around the base, leaning to the NE. Such monuments are characteristic of the Later Neolithic and Bronze Age periods.

The area to be scheduled encompasses the stone and an area around it in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 20m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
