Description

The monument is the remains of a circular house (hut circle) of the Bronze Age measuring 12.5m in diameter. The area to be scheduled measures 30m in diameter, to include the circle and an area around it in which traces of activity associated with the use of the house will survive, as marked in red on the attached map.

Statement of Scheduling

The monument is of national importance as the well preserved remains of a house which has the potential to enhance considerably our understanding of prehistoric settlement. It is of particular importance because of the survival in the area of a number of monuments of this period; taken together they have the potential to enhance considerably our understanding of the development and use of the prehistoric landscape.
