Description

This monument comprises the remains of a large circular chambered cairn about 11m in diameter. Two of the large upright blocks which once formed the sides and end of the chamber remain in situ, a third has fallen in recent years. Other large tumbled blocks represent the other side slabs of the chamber. The area to be scheduled measures a maximum of 70m NE-SW by 40m NW-SE, to include the cairn itself and an area in which traces of activities associated with its construction and use will survive, as shown in red on the attached map.
