Description

The monument comprises the remains of a group of ring ditch houses of prehistoric date represented by cropmarks visible on oblique aerial photographs.

The cropmarks lie on fairly level ground in arable farmland at around 110m OD. They comprise at least three ring ditches, from 5-10m in diameter, with ditches up to about 2m wide. These represent the remains of former timber roundhouses. Around the ring ditches are scattered a number of pits.

The area to be scheduled is divided into two circular portions encompassing the remains described and an area around them in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. The NE part has a diameter of 40m while the SW part has a diameter of 70m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
