The monument consists of the remains of a fort located on an isolated rocky knoll. The rampart of the fort is marked out by a scatter of rubble which indicates that the fort was originally oval in plan and measured about 30m by 18m within a wall at least 2.5m thick. The position of the entrance is unclear but was possibly to the NNE where there is a shallow natural gully which has been enlarged by quarrying.
The overgrown foundations of a small rectangular building or enclosure of uncertain age and function are located within this gully. The area to be scheduled measures 50m SSW-NNE by 35m NW-SE, to include the fort and an area around in which traces of activities associated with the construction and occupation of the fort may survive, as shown in red on the accompanying map extract.
