Description

The monument comprises the remains of an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date represented by cropmarks visible on oblique aerial photographs.

The monument lies in arable farmland at around 70m OD at the foot of a steep slope. It comprises a roughly oval enclosure some 40m NW-SE by about 30m within a ditch approximately 4m wide. It has a SE-facing entrance.

The area to be scheduled encompasses the enclosure and an area around it in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 70m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
