The monument comprises the remains of an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date.
The monument lies in pasture at around 280m OD close to the well-preserved fort of Green Castle. It comprises a roughly circular turf-covered enclosure some 15-20m in diameter, defined by a bank some 3m wide. The wall footings of the enclosure are visible in places. A sheepfold of relatively recent date occupies much of the interior of the enclosure.
The area to be scheduled encompasses the visible remains and an area around them in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 50m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
