The 4 kilns were filled with limestone from Bellman Park quarry, via a 660 yard long tramline, which was driven by a continuous chain from the kiln end it ran over the old A59 road. This photo shows where the 50 foot high wooden gantry for the tramlines met the actual kiln. The wooden trucks were about 4 feet by 3 feet, one of them is shown in the 1962 film Whistle Down The Wind.
