Uploader's Comments

It stands by an ancient drovers road which was still being used for that purpose as late as the 1930's.This prehistoric Standing Stone has been utilised as a boundary stone. On this face we are looking at has been inscribed the word Hallelujah in Hebrew. This is thought to have been done by William Strickland an eccentric 18th century vicar from Ingleby Greenhow.
