Approaching the Settlement on what is known locally as Crown End, Westerdale Moor from the minor road to the west, the first thing that you see is an alignment of stones running roughly north / south across the narrowest part of Crown End.Though not particularly prominent(at least to me) the stones are built on top of an embankment. It is thought that this line of stones may have been a boundary marker for the settlement.This view taken in July 2012 shows the northern section of the alignment as it it runs down towards the valley below.I was stood at Grid Reference NZ 66065 071000 when I took the photo
