Ana Cross

Uploader's Comments

Also known as Ainhowe Cross, this is an 18th or 19th century replacement and at 12ft high is the tallest cross on the Yorkshire Moors. However the original cross stood 24ft high and the top which still survives can be seen in the crypt of Lastingham Church. The present cross was restored again quite recently after it fell down in 1994.This photo was taken in September 2011.
