Unfortunately I could only get a long distance shot using the zoom facility as the stone is in the middle of a field and this was the closest I could get to it from the track. Originally there were two stones about 100ft apart at this location, only this one survives, it is known locally as Wades Stone North It is estimated to be some 5,000 years old. Legend has it that it marks one end of the Giant Wade’s grave who lived in Lythe . The other end of the grave being marked by Wades Stone South. This photo was taken in January 2012
