Ogam stone Lewannick Churchyard

Uploader's Comments

According to information provided in the Church:- "It is of reddish granite and so badly weathered as to be almost illegible. Only faint traces of the Latin inscription and even fainter of the ogam can now be deciphered. The ogam read upwards and the Latin may have read horizontally, the memorial of Ingenuus, a Latin man's namealso recorded in Wales and Gaul. The inscription is likely to date between the 5th and the 8th centuries AD."
