Gab Wood Cup & Ring stone

Uploader's Comments

I read about some cut ring and groove stones in a small wood in Cookridge called Gab Wood. It seems the last time it was photographed was in the 1940s by someone called Dan Cole. The photos are on the The Thoresby Society Web page. Going by the directions given by Historic England official listing, I managed to find it. It was hidden by a lot of moss and soil, but I managed to clean it off and get a good few photos of it. I couldn't find the other one but will attempt to do next time.
