There are three known Bronze Age barrows on Cissbury Ring. The western one has a hollow at its centre where it was partially excavated or looted by antiquarians in the past. Other barrows may have existed within the Iron Age hillfort, but were probably destroyed when the hillfort was constructed c. 300 BC. Alex Vincent.
