Uploader's Comments

Located between Appleton-Le-Moors and Lastingham , it will have been a waymarker on the track to the Saxon Monastery (654AD - 867AD)at Lastingham. Its large base is similar to that of White Cross ( Fat Betty) at Rosedale Head.
