Located on Lilla Howe not far from Fylingdales Early Warning Station. It marks the spot where the Saxon Nobleman Lilla was buried. Lilla gave his life in 626 AD protecting King Edwin of Northumbria during an assassination attempt.It is in fact the oldest Christian monument that was erected to an individual in the country
