Description

The two stones stand in an area which is clearly often damp, with a drainage ditch immediately to the NW of the larger stone, and another c 1.5 m to its NE - rather further than this from the smaller stone.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of prehistoric funerary and ritual practises. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits.

The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
