Description

Later 19th century tenement with renaissance detailing.

3 storeys plus basement. Polished ashlar, channelled at

ground. Some bays are canted and iron-crested. Single

and grouped entrances, triple doorway right with massive

pilasters, 2-light windows above with shell-heads at

1st floor, deep consoled and iron-railed hoods; plainer

1st floor window hoods elsewhere. Horizontal strings,

stone-bracketted cornice. Plate glass sashes. End range

(no 164) is similar in its detailing and does not look

original, return elevation to Albert Avenue mostly

single lights.

Cast-iron railings to steps and to basements.
