Galdenoch Castle

Uploader's Comments

A 16th century 3 story tower house built by Gilbert Agnew, son of Andrew Agnew of Lochnaw, who was killed at the Battle of Pinkie. A powerful clan in the area, but the family was left in financial ruin after heavy fines for refusing to embrace episcopacy, and a failed attempt to establish salt pans on the nearby bay.
