The monument comprises the remains of an unenclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument is situated in arable farmland between 30-40m O.D. The monument comprises two probable round houses, around 12m in diameter and 25m apart; one house certainly has a souterrain (an underground structure) emerging from it, and extending for c 18m. The second house probably also has a souterrain.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is irregular in shape with maximum dimensions of 140m NW-SE by 50m NE-SW, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to an understanding of prehistoric settlement and economy. Its importance is increased by its proximity to other monuments of potentially contemporary date.
