Description

The monument comprises an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as a cropmark on oblique aerial photographs.

The monument lies in arable farmland at around 105m OD. It comprises a sub-circular enclosure measuring about 35m by 40m, defined by a ditch measuring about 1.5m wide. Enclosures of this type are characteristic of the later prehistoric period.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 70m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
