Description

The monument comprises an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as a cropmark on oblique aerial photographs.

The monument lies in arable farmland, at around 115m OD. It comprises an oval enclosed settlement measuring about 80m by 60m, defined by a single ditch measuring up to about 2m in width. Enclosed settlements of this type are characteristic of the Iron Age.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 130m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
