Description

The monument comprises a dun of prehistoric date.

The monument lies on the level summit of a knoll at around 10m OD. It comprises an oval-shaped dun measuring approximately 22m by 13m, defined by a robbed stone wall measuring about 3m in width. The entrance gap is at the W side and traces of the external stone wall of the dun survive to the S of this entrance gap. Duns are fortified settlement sites of Iron Age date.

The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 45m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
