The monument is an isolated hut circle of the Bronze Age. It is built on a levelled platform on a SW facing slope in open moorland. The earth and stone bank is spread to a width of 4m; it is 0.5m and 1.4m high on the uphill and downhill sides respectively. The featureless interior is 8m in diameter. A 1.5m wide gap in the SE is probably the entrance . As there appears to be no associated field system, the area proposed for scheduling includes only the circle and an area around it in which traces of activity associated with the hut will survive. The area is 40m in diameter.

The monument is of national importance because of its well preserved field characteristics. It is of particular interest because it is built on a levelled platform; this is not common on Arran, and may relate to the Uncensored Platform Settlements of the S mainland of Scotland. The monument is of national importance to the theme of Bronze Age settlement.
