Description

The monument is a prehistoric settlement consisting of seven house platforms, each scooped into the hillside. The platforms run along the hillside and measure from 15.3m to 12.8m in diameter. The area to be scheduled is approximately oval in shape, with maximum dimensions of 180m NW-SE and 120m NE-SW, as delineated in red on the attached plan.

Statement of Scheduling

The monument is of national importance as a good example of an unenclosed platform settlement of medium size and lacking eccentric or unusual features. It has been selected for its typicality in an area which has many atypical settlements.
