The monument is a hut circle of the later Bronze Age or Iron Age situated 10m E of the march dyke with Kilfeddar. Sited on a low knoll, it measures 6.5m in internal diameter within a wall 1.7m thick and 0.4m high. Its entrance is to the ESE. The area to be scheduled includes the hut circle and an area around it within which traces of activity associated with its use may be found. It measures 30m in diameter, centred on the monument but excluding the march dyke and the land to the W of it.

The monument is of national importance as a hut circle of the late Bronze Age or Iron Age which has the potential to enhance considerably our understanding of prehistoric settlement in the area. Its importance is increased by the survival of a number of monuments of similar date and function in the vicinity; the study of this group has the potential to increase greatly our knowledge of the development and organisation of the prehistoric landscape.
