Description

The monument is an enclosed settlement of the later Bronze Age/Iron Age situated on a natural raised platform in low-lying marshy ground. The enclosed area measures about 75m x 60m and is defined on all sides except the N by a low stony bank about 0.2m high and by a shallow ditch between 0.2m and 0.5m deep. On the N there also appears to have been an internal ditch stretching for about 15m. There is an entrance c. 7m wide on the S. An area measuring 110m (N-S) x 100m transversely is proposed for scheduling, to include the enclosure and an area around it in which traces of associated activity will survive.
