Description

On the W summit of Ewe Hill, below a more recent cairn, is a low barrow formed of earth and small stones. The barrow, which is 8.5m in diameter and no more than 0.4m high, is a prehistoric burial mound, probably of Bronze Age date. A second barrow, 5m in diameter and 0.3m high, lies 25m to the NNE. The area to be scheduled is a rectangle, 50m N-S by 30m E-W.

Statement of Scheduling

The monuments are two good examples of small Bronze Age burial barrows, and are of national importance for the information they contain regarding prehistoric funerary practices.
