The monument is of national importance as a house stance which has the potential to enhance our understanding of prehistoric settlement. It is of particular interest because of the survival nearby of a small broadly contemporary farmstead; taken together the two monuments have the potential to enhance our understanding of the development and use of the prehistoric landscape.
