The monument comprises the remains of a ring ditch house and associated remains of prehistoric date represented by cropmarks visible on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 25m OD. It comprises a ring ditch measuring between 15m and 20m in diameter defined by a ditch about 2m wide, with a wide entrance facing W. Ring ditches such as this have been shown by excavation to represent the remains of former timber roundhouses of the later prehistoric period.
In the immediate vicinity of the ring ditch are numerous other cropmarks likely to represent associated former structures and deposits.
The area to be scheduled encompasses the ring ditch and associated cropmarks, and an area around them in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 100m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
