Description

David MacKenzie circa 1840. Symmetrical U-plan 2-storey basement and attic 4-bay semi-detqched pair of flatted villas. Ashlar front and sides with 1st floor band course, main cornice and blocking course; coursed rubble rear.

S elevation: broad canted end bays, single-light inner bays with canted dormers over.

Side elevations: 3-bay with centre twin pilastered and corniced doorpieces. Bay to right blind. Centre corniced wallhead stack.

Rear: projecting wings with wallhead stacks, that to No 2 cut down, and inner canted dormers.

Piended and platformed slate roof with wallhead and ridge stacks. Windows sash and case, 2-pane glazing pattern to S elevation, small panes to most windows at sides and rear.

Square pyramidal-capped gatepiers. Low boundary walls to Laurel Bank with cast and wrought-iron railings. Ashlar boundary walls step up Constitution Road (railings removed) and return to Prospect Place.
