Description

The monument comprises the remains of an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date represented by cropmarks visible on oblique aerial photographs.

The monument lies in arable farmland at around 85m OD. It comprises a roughly oval enclosure approximately 50m E-W by about 40m of which the N portion is visible as a cropmark. Its inner ditch is approximately 2m wide with an outer palisade trench some 5m away. A circular dark patch some 5m in diameter may represent the remains of a former domestic structure within the enclosure.
