Bowl barrow on Springhead Hill, 750m SSW of Springhead Farm

A Scheduled Monument in Parham, West Sussex

Bronze Age barrow at Springhead Hill, Parham, West Sussex.

Uploader's Comments

This bronze Age barrow is situated on Springhead Hill, Parham just north of the South Downs Way. An early windmill once existed at Parham, which used a Bronze Age barrow as its base, which may have been this one or the site of one to the east now in woodland. A number of barrows were reused as windmill-steads mainly in the medieval period. Alex Vincent.
