Bowl barrow 200m west of Chanctonbury Ring hillfort

A Scheduled Monument in Wiston, West Sussex

Bronze Age barrow west of Chanctonbury Ring Iron Age hillfort.

Uploader's Comments

This Bronze Age barrow is the best preserved of the barrows situated on Chanctonbury Hill. A large dip in its centre suggests that either a partial excavation or looting by antiquarians took place. It is still visible from many areas such as Highdown and Cissbury and the Weald. Alex Vincent.
