Wayside cross known as Old Ralph on Ledging Hill, Westerdale Moor

The photo was taken on a bleak foggy day.The cross originates from before 1200 and is probably 11th century. The centre of the crosspiece has the initials CD ( Charles Duncombe) engraved upon it with the date 1708 beneath. Charles Duncombe was a local Landowner. There is also an R carved on the base. On the top is a depression for coins to be left for travelers.
